OpenSauce 2025
We went to OpenSauce 2025!
How'd It Go?
We exhibited our Tiny Bots project last year at OpenSauce 2025. For more info on the technical details, please check them out here. For this year we added a few new improvements including:
- A two-player dance and fight mode using an upgraded motion tracking system.
- Better controls and faster movement speed for the gamepad-controlled fighting and soccer modes.
- An upgraded game court that detected goals more reliably. It also had the added benefit of being easier and faster to assemble.
To get the motion-controlled fight mode working well, we added new motion tracking systems to better capture punches and leans. We also embedded magnets in each robot's feet and machined a custom metal plate for them to stand on.
Setup Day!
We arrived on Thursday this year and took our time getting setup. Everything arrived intact and somehow avoided being TSA screened (this time). Since we were some of the first exhibitors to arrive, we had lots more time to walk around and chat with exhibitors and staff after getting situated.
Everyone's still here!

OpenSauce Event
The next few days felt like they went by in a blur. So many cool people came by to see our exhibit and play the games we programmed. Although the team lost most of their voices within the first day, the games were intuitive enought that most people were able to pick up the different gamemodes immidiately. We even had a few groups swing by multiple times because they wanted to play more! Overall it was an incredible experience, and we're looking forward to applying to exhibit again next year!
Oh, and we made some robot friends too!
Everyone likes to dab here!
